The Soul Whisperers Journey – Part 2 – Cultivating Calm: How Gardening, DIY Magic, and Kava Soothe the Daily Hustle
Hey friends, welcome back.
In my last post, we talked all about clearing out the clutter inside our homes to create space for mental clarity. But let’s be real—the chaos of daily life doesn’t just stop because we organized a closet. Lately, the stressors and anxieties of the everyday hustle have been knocking on my door, loud as ever. When that heavy, overwhelming feeling starts creeping in, I know it’s time to take my healing outside – it’s time for some serious “dirt therapy.”
Recently, I decided to channel that anxious energy into something productive and grounding by doing some earth cleanup in my community. There is something so profoundly therapeutic about getting your hands dirty and physically clearing away forgotten trash and heavy energy from the earth. It instantly reminds me that we are all connected – and taking care of the space around us is a form of taking care of ourselves.
The universe always has a beautiful way of rewarding a little hard work. While cleaning up, I stumbled upon some absolutely incredible treasures—cool, vintage bottles that had been buried and forgotten in the dirt. Looking at them, dirty and weathered, I didn’t see trash; I saw pure potential. I brought them home, washed away the years of debris, and immediately started brainstorming a DIY project for them. I decided to give them a total transformation but they aren’t ready yet. I wrapped them in twine for that rustic, earthy feel, added some of my favorite crystals to infuse them with good intentions, and filled them with beautiful faux flowers. I’ll place them in my home as a gorgeous reminder that what was once buried can be reborn into something full of magic.
It got me thinking about how much of a metaphor that is for our own journeys. When daily life leaves us feeling a little weathered, stressed, or buried under the weight of anxiety, we can always wash off the dust, look at ourselves with fresh eyes, and recreate our space into something beautiful.
Planting Seeds and Cultivating Patience
Turning those old bottles into art is just one piece of my seasonal transition. To really shake off the lingering daily anxieties, I’ve been getting my hands back into the soil to start my garden seeds. Gardening is the ultimate lesson in patience and letting go of control—two things that anxiety loves to fight against. When you press a tiny seed into the dark dirt, you can’t rush it. You have to trust the darkness, water it, and focus on the quiet, unseen growth happening beneath the surface. Watching those first little green sprouts pop up is an instant dopamine hit, and a reminder that good things take time to bloom. Whenever the world feels too loud, stepping outside to check on my seedlings instantly anchors me back to what matters.
The Sacred Mid-Day Pause
Of course, finding calm isn’t just about keeping busy with projects; it’s also about knowing when to slow down and just breathe. At the end of a long day of dirt therapy, crafting, and tending to the earth, my favorite way to transition from the hustle to total relaxation is with a mug of Polygold kava. If you know me, you know how much I rely on kava to help melt away that tight, anxious feeling in my chest. Slipping into that sacred mid-day or evening pause with a cup of Polygold feels like a gentle, grounding hug for my nervous system. It lets the residual tension drift away, allowing me to fully sit back and appreciate the peaceful environment I’m building, one seed and one DIY project at a time.
If life has been feeling a little heavy for you lately, I highly recommend finding your own version of “dirt therapy.” Go outside, look for the hidden treasures in the chaos, and don’t forget to take a moment to just pause and pour into yourself.
Until next time, keep your vibes high and your mind calm.
