Founders
Cory
Cory Kilheeney was the Finance GM at a major national car brand when he decided to become an entrepreneur in 2016. After starting in the vape world, Cory decided to take the ultimate risk.
Sober for 8 years at the time, Cory reflected on a trip to Florida he took while attempting to get sober several years ago. He discovered kava bars as a means for social interaction, a place where people who don’t drink alcohol can have the experience of a regular bar. Cory decided to bring that environment to eastern PA.
Opening Kava Korner brought Cory squarely into the botanical world, where he started manufacturing botanicals and selling on his site, mbckavakorner.com. Just like in 2016, Cory decided to take a leap.
Staying up numerous nights and spending them in the lab, Cory was committed to figuring out a new, safer mitra extraction method. While experimenting, Cory discovered a full extraction method using no harsh chemicals, a major discovery in an industry that relied heavily on ethanol.
Building up his extraction brand, Cory decided to partner with a biotech pharmaceutical company to use brand new technology and create the extract pump known as MiT Quick.
Austin
Austin Kilheeney attended Duquesne University and acquired his Masters in Rhetoric
and Grammar in 2019. While working towards his degree, he also was employed by Duquesne
as a Research Assistant for several professors, aiding them in their studies and projects.
After graduating, Austin worked for a non profit as a Marketing Coordinator in Pittsburgh, and
continued working there remotely during the pandemic. The time isolating made Austin
reconsider his life goals and made him take the ultimate risk; move across the state to chase
this dream with his brother Cory.
Austin has two dogs, Howard and Ida, who join him in the office every day, and are the most
spoiled dogs on planet Earth. Austin handles all back end and bookkeeping for the company,
