Chai tea is a wonderful way to enjoy your favorite botanical infusions, especially as the holidays approach. It’s warm and cozy flavors pair perfectly with the seasonal Golden Pumpkin Golden Standard, so Emilia took the extra step in making it from scratch so you all can try it at home!

Chai concentrate:

3-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled, grated (can be sliced for less juice)

2 cinnamon sticks

2 teaspoons black peppercorns

10 whole cloves

6 green cardamom pods

6 pieces star anise OR 1 tablespoon fennel seeds

6 cups water

6 bags of black tea OR 6 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea

Combine all ingredients in a pot, except for tea bags, bring to boil on high heat, then reduce to medium and simmer for 10 minutes. Add tea bags and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

Get a strainer and pour concentrate through the strainer into a mason jar or similar container.

Chai latte:

How you choose to mix the chai latte depends on your individual spice and sweetness preference! You can start with pouring one ounce of the concentrate into a mug and mixing with 1 tbsp of honey. Add Golden Pumpkin to your preference. Then steam (or heat) 1 cup of your preferred milk and enjoy!

Another wonderful way to enjoy some chai would be to mix in 5 grams of poly gold kava extract! Let us know if you try this yourself, or if you have any other ideas for botanical infused beverages!
